How the Hashtag Generator Works
This tool matches your topic or niche against a curated set of hashtag groups (travel, photography, food, fitness, business and tech), then filters the results to your chosen platform's recommended limit: Instagram up to 30, LinkedIn up to 5, TikTok up to 8, and Twitter/X up to 2. If your topic doesn't match a strong niche category, or returns too few tags, it fills the remaining slots with broadly popular default tags and topic-derived tags built from the words in your input.
The strategy selector changes which tags are prioritized: Niche favors longer, more specific hashtags (over 10 characters) that face less competition; Broad favors shorter, high-volume tags (10 characters or fewer) for maximum reach; Mixed blends both for a balanced approach, which is generally the safest default for most accounts.
Caption Hashtag Density
If you paste a caption, the tool counts total words and counts hashtags already present (matching the pattern #word), then computes density = (hashtags in caption ÷ total words) × 100. There's no universally "correct" density, but stuffing a caption with hashtags mid-sentence can hurt readability -- many creators place their full hashtag set in a first comment or at the end of the caption instead.
