📋 What We Collect

Specifically, SmartUtilz's own code never collects:

• Your name, email address, or any contact details (unless you voluntarily contact us)
• Numbers or values you enter into any calculator
• Search queries made within the site
• Anything you type, ever, into any tool on this site

Separately, Google Analytics and Google AdSense — third-party services embedded on this site and covered in full detail further down this page — do independently collect your IP address, approximate location, device/browser type, and which pages you visit, for traffic measurement and ad serving. This data goes to Google, not to SmartUtilz, and is never linked to anything you enter into a calculator.

⚡ How Our Tools Work

Every calculator and utility on SmartUtilz is built using client-side JavaScript. This means all computation happens entirely inside your web browser, on your own device. When you enter a number and press Calculate:

• Your input is read by JavaScript running in your browser tab
• The calculation is performed locally on your computer or phone
• The result is displayed back to you in the same browser tab
• No data is sent over the internet — not to SmartUtilz, not to anyone

This architecture isn't just a privacy choice — it's what makes our tools fast. There are no server round-trips, no API calls, no loading spinners. Results appear as you type because the calculation never leaves your device.

🍪 Cookies

SmartUtilz's own code sets no cookies for tracking, advertising, or personalisation. However, this site uses Google Analytics (to measure aggregate traffic, such as which tools are popular) and Google AdSense (to display ads that keep every tool free), and both of these third-party Google services do set cookies in your browser. Full detail on each is in the sections below.

The only storage SmartUtilz's own code uses is your browser's built-in localStorage — and only when a tool explicitly offers to remember your last inputs as a convenience feature (for example, remembering unit preferences). This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is stored only in your browser, not on any server
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data
• Is not read or accessible by SmartUtilz or any third party

A cookie consent choice (via Google's Funding Choices) is shown on your first visit, letting you accept or decline non-essential cookies before Analytics or personalised ads are enabled. You can change your choice at any time — see the Advertising & Cookies section below for opt-out links.

🔗 Third-Party Services

SmartUtilz uses a small number of third-party services to deliver the site itself. Here is exactly what they are and what data, if any, they receive:

Standard server access logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp) may be retained by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes for a limited period. These logs are not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

📈 Analytics (Google Analytics)

SmartUtilz uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — for example, which tools are most used and which pages need improvement. This service is provided by Google LLC.

Google Analytics may collect:

• Your IP address (typically truncated/anonymised by Google)

• Pages visited and time spent on the site

We do not use Google Analytics to identify you personally, and we never send it anything you type into a calculator. SmartUtilz uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. This service is provided by Google LLC and helps fund the free availability of all tools on this site.

We do not receive access to any personal or financial data you submit to a third-party site after clicking an affiliate link; once you leave SmartUtilz, that provider's own privacy policy governs your data.

✉️ Contact Form Data

If you use the contact form, you voluntarily provide your name, email address, and the message you write. This data is:

• Submitted to Formspree (a secure form processing service) and forwarded to our email inbox
• Used only to respond to your message
• Not added to any mailing list or marketing database
• Not sold or shared with any third party
• Retained only as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry

⚖️ Your Rights

Under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you. Because SmartUtilz holds no personal data about visitors, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete in the normal course of using this site.

If you have contacted us via the contact form or email, you may request deletion of that correspondence at any time by emailing hello@smartutilz.com. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.

SmartUtilz does not engage in automated decision-making or profiling of any kind.

👶 Children's Privacy

SmartUtilz is a general-purpose reference and calculation site suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, there is no additional risk to children using this site. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK).

📝 Changes to This Policy

If our privacy practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Because we collect no data, any future changes are likely to be additions that are equally privacy-protective.

We will not introduce tracking, advertising, or data collection without prominent notice on the site.
