How Influencer Rates Are Estimated

This calculator starts from a simplified base-rate benchmark of $0.01 per follower at a 3% engagement rate, then scales it by your actual engagement rate, your niche multiplier and your deliverable type: Base Rate = Followers × $0.01 × (Engagement Rate ÷ 3) × Niche Multiplier × Deliverable Multiplier. The tool then presents a low estimate (60% of base, floored at $10), a mid estimate (the base rate itself) and a high estimate (180% of base) so you have a realistic negotiating range instead of a single number.

Niche multipliers reflect typical advertiser demand: Finance & Business (2.0x) and Technology (1.8x) command the highest premiums, followed by Gaming (1.6x), Health & Fitness and Education (1.5x), Food & Travel (1.4x), Fashion & Beauty (1.3x), Entertainment (1.2x), down to General/Lifestyle (1.0x baseline). Deliverable multipliers scale from a Mention/Tag (0.3x) and a 24-hour Story (0.6x) up through a single Feed Post (1.0x), a Reel/Short Video (1.5x), a Dedicated Video (2.5x) and a Full Campaign of 5+ posts (3.0x).

Influencer Tiers & Value Score

Follower count is bucketed into standard industry tiers: Nano (under 1K), Micro (1K–10K), Mid-tier (10K–100K), Macro (100K–1M) and Mega (1M+). The estimated CPM for the brand is the mid rate divided by your effective views per 1,000 (using your entered views, or an estimate of followers × engagement rate × 10 if views aren't provided). A Value Score flags "High Value" when engagement exceeds 3% and CPM is under $10, "Good Value" above 1% engagement, and "Review Needed" otherwise.

Frequently Asked Questions

This tool uses a base-rate formula of $0.01 per follower at a 3% engagement rate, then scales that by your actual engagement rate, a niche multiplier (e.g. Finance & Business at 2.0x vs General/Lifestyle at 1.0x), and a deliverable multiplier (e.g. a Dedicated Video at 2.5x vs a Story at 0.6x). It returns a low, mid and high rate as a starting negotiation range.
Advertisers pay more to reach audiences that convert into high-value customers. Finance, business and technology niches carry the highest multipliers (1.8-2.0x) in this calculator because those audiences typically have higher purchasing power and advertiser demand, while general lifestyle content sits at the 1.0x baseline.
Tiers are based on follower count: Nano (under 1,000), Micro (1,000-10,000), Mid-tier (10,000-100,000), Macro (100,000-1,000,000), and Mega (1,000,000+). Many brands now prioritize Micro and Mid-tier creators for their typically higher engagement rates relative to follower count.
It's a quick read on how attractive your rate looks to a brand: 'High Value' means your engagement rate is above 3% and your estimated CPM is under $10; 'Good Value' means engagement is above 1%; otherwise it flags 'Review Needed', suggesting your rate may be high relative to your engagement and reach.
