About the Freelance Service Contract Generator
This tool drafts a basic freelance/contractor service agreement covering the scope of services, project timeline, fee structure (including an automatically calculated deposit and balance split), number of included revision rounds, IP assignment on full payment, confidentiality, independent-contractor status, termination terms, and a liability cap — all populated from the freelancer name, client name, service description, fee, deposit percentage, duration and revision count you enter.
The deposit and balance amounts are calculated directly from your inputs: Deposit Amount = Fee × (Deposit % ÷ 100), and Balance Amount = Fee × (1 − Deposit % ÷ 100). The contract states that intellectual property in the deliverables transfers to the client only once full payment is received, which is a standard protection for freelancers against clients who use unpaid work without completing payment.
