What You Can Encode in a QR Code
A QR (Quick Response) code is a 2D barcode that stores data readable by any smartphone camera. This generator supports five content types: a URL (opens a website directly), plain text (displays a message), an email address (opens the device's email app pre-addressed), a phone number (opens the dialer), and WiFi network credentials (connects the device to a network automatically, without typing a password) -- each type formats the underlying data differently so the scanning device knows how to handle it.
Larger QR codes (300px vs 128px) are more reliable to scan from a distance or when printed small, and using a higher error-correction level makes the code more resilient to smudges, glare, or partial damage -- useful if you're printing the code on a physical sign, product packaging, or business card rather than just displaying it on screen.
