How EPF Corpus Is Projected
EPF is a mandatory retirement savings scheme for salaried employees in India: both you and your employer contribute (typically 12% of basic salary each, though a portion of the employer's share routes to the EPS pension scheme rather than your EPF balance). This calculator projects your growing balance year-by-year, accounting for your expected annual salary hike (which increases your contribution base every year) and the prevailing EPF interest rate (currently around 8.25%, set annually by the EPFO).
Why It Matters
Because contributions are automatic (deducted at source) and returns are government-declared and compound annually, EPF often becomes the single largest guaranteed retirement asset for salaried employees by the time they retire — even without any additional voluntary investment, simply from the combination of mandatory contributions and decades of compounding.
